Schools Programme Updates
It’s been an incredibly busy and inspiring year for our Schools Team!
So far this year, we’ve had the privilege of working with 3,270 young people across 181 creative schools workshops as part of Eastside Schools Workshops.
Spoken Word Power has reached 465 young people from primary, secondary and SEND schools during the Spring term, culminating in an unforgettable performance at the Criterion Theatre where 88 young performers captivated an audience of almost 500 people in celebration of World Poetry Day. Currently, we’re working with 1,132 young people across 12 primary and SEND schools through our Artists in Residence programme, exploring stop motion animation, drama and spoken word poetry. We can’t wait to see their hard work shared in the final Creative Festivals!
Beyond London, our free digital programme Creativity Live has reached an amazing 27,000 children and young people across the UK. We held a Celebrating Diversity livestream in October exploring the life and legacy of Sybil Phoenix, and in May we held a Celebrating Wellbeing livestream exploring our community ‘roots’ and how these can positively impact our wellbeing, using drama and poetry techniques.

East Ed
Following the success of last year’s events, we have several exciting and engaging events coming soon for Educators based in Newham, Hackney, Tower Hamlets, and Waltham Forest, as part of our East Ed programme.

These events are part of our East Ed Programme. East Ed is a cross-organisational effort between the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) and the world-leading partners in the newly developed East Bank within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic park: BBC, UCL, UAL’s London College of Fashion, V&A and Sadler’s Wells.
Celebrate Eastside's Newly Refurbished Building!
Over the last few months. we’ve been working hard to refurbish our office on Hackney Road, creating improved co-working and private office spaces, and multipurpose meeting and event spaces.
Join us on 9th July 2025 from 4-7pm for the launch of our newly refurbished building as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary in the building.
Eastside will welcome local businesses and community groups for an exclusive tour to see our space, including a film/photographic studio, elegant boardroom and intimate meeting spaces. Our desk spaces as well as our new leasable private office will also be available for viewing as we invite new businesses to relocate to our building at highly affordable rates.
Enjoy celebratory drinks and food, network with local businesses and meet members of the Eastside team who will be on hand to welcome and show you around the building.

Teacher Advisory Group Invitation
We are excited to share that we’re looking for new members for our Teacher Advisory Board for the next academic year.
Our Teacher Advisory Group puts teachers’ voices at the heart of developing our creative educational offerings for schools. Members of the group will act as advisors and ambassadors for Eastside’s Schools Programme in their school and community.
In return for your valuable insight, we will provide you with special invitations to Teacher events, discounts on workshops, free ticket offers and access to a network of like-minded, London-based teachers.
