Young people…Make your voice heard!

Autumn is here and we are excited to launch our 25th anniversary project I know I wish I will which invites 5-25 year olds from across the nation to enter our FREE spoken word poetry competition.

Any young person in that age range can send their spoken word poem(s) via the enter competition page

500 competition entrants will be selected to perform in London’s West End during a world record breaking 25 hour spoken word poetry marathon at the Criterion Theatre. The event will be live streamed and all poems will be published in a book.  If you want to be part of this extraordinary event, enter now or buy your tickets – but don’t delay, tickets will sell out fast and the competition deadline is 20th December this year.

We want to hear young voices telling us what they KNOW about the world…what they WISH was different and what they WILL do to make change.  Our dream is to hear young voices from across all different places, backgrounds and ages, inspiring us with their unique perspectives.

To help everyone take part we have created a range of free videos and top tips, to ensure every young person, school, college, university or youth group can take part.

Jacob Sam – La Rose, I know I wish I will national ambassador has been travelling the country with the Eastside team inspiring teachers and artists to get involved in this programme.  So far we have visited Peterborough, South Yorkshire, Merseyside, Lincolnshire, London with Cheltenham next and have already engaged thousands of young people in over 75 different schools.

So, don’t be shy, please spread the word and get involved.  It is more important than ever that young people confidently express their views to the world as we work together towards building a better future.
