PRIMARY WORLD POETRY DAY WORKSHOPS

Boost literacy outcomes at your school with Eastside’s exciting spoken word poetry workshops celebrate creative writing, poetry and the spoken word within your school Workshops build excitement and enthusiasm for language and literacy, develop imaginative thinking through experimentation whilst also building confidence in your students to express and articulate their creative ideas

All workshops are led by our expert facilitators and build key academic and personal skills including oracy, writing, confidence, and collaboration.

EYFS & KS1 – POETRY EXPLORERS 

45 mins per class

Allow your students to be introduced to the wonderful world of poetry and spoken word. In this workshop your students will get the opportunity to contribute to a class poem – creating their own short pieces and performing all together. The workshop aims to build excitement and enthusiasm for literacy and language.

KS2 – POETRY DIVERS 

1 hour per class

Give your students the chance to dive into poetry with one of Eastside’s professional poets. Students will write their own poetry to explore a key topic, set text or theme, and learn how to perform these to audiences through working in a team to create group poems.
