Welcome Nandita!

Spring is on the way – it’s such a special time of year as we anticipate a proliferation of creativity with new life and colour bursting through the natural world. In the same vein, we are so pleased to welcome Nandita Lovage to the Eastside team who is joining us as our new Film and Digital Programme Manager.

Related to this Nandita has just launched Eastside’s latest exciting new training programme for young filmmakers – applications are open for the Easter programme now, so please spread the word!

We’ve been busy…

Eastside have been lucky celebrate our recent achievements in film at the wonderful Courthouse Hotel in Shoreditch where we recently showcased 4 new short fiction films as part of our 7th annual BFI Film Academy, followed by the screening of Eastside’s first ever feature length film, achieving a great write up in Hackney Today newspaper. Congratulations to everyone involved.

Our work with schools is making great impacts. We are delighted to have worked with so many new schools during World Book Day this year and we are now booking up many more exciting cultural events with schools to help celebrate Shakespeare Week and World Poetry Day in style.

21st March 2019, World Poetry Day, has special significance for Eastside as this is when we will be officially launching I know, I wish, I will – our new national project to help Eastside celebrate its 25th anniversary. Please help us make this project fly by supporting it.

I am constantly inspired and amazed at the creativity and commitment of our staff, artists, teachers, supporters and young people. Thanks to you all for bringing art, culture and creativity into so many young lives.
