Eastside Online supports schools to explore important PSHE and Citizenship topics through FREE access to On-Demand and Livestream creative lessons as well as creative Teacher CPD workshops. Creative Minds Online

Our Creative Minds Season supports the following KS2 PSHE Outcomes:

  • Know how to recognise and talk about their emotions, including having a varied vocabulary of words to use when talking about their own and others’ feelings
  • Recognise that feelings can change over time and range in intensity,  everyday things that affect feelings and the importance of expressing feelings
  • Simple self-care techniques, strategies for supporting mental health and their benefits on mental wellbeing and happiness
  • Strategies to respond to feelings, including intense or conflicting feelings; how to manage and respond to feelings appropriately and proportionately in different situations
  • Helpful Heroes (on demand) – Using drama to support ourselves and others to understand emotions 
  • Gratitude Attitude (on demand)Trying out songwriting to learn how to have a positive mindset and be thankful for everyday things. 
  • Weds 12 May, 1.30-2.30pm Creative Tools for Positive Mental Health: get students acting and singing to explore new tools and techniques for staying positive – Join hundreds of other classes around the country to participate in an exciting live streamed creative experience with Eastside facilitators on youtube. Students will be guided through short interactive tasks to complete in their classroom by two inspirational Eastside facilitators to get them creatively exploring mental health and wellbeing.  Schools will be encouraged to add their ideas to the live online whiteboard throughout. Requires a teacher in the room. 
  • Weds 28 April, 3.45-5.30pm – Movement and Dance Techniques for Promoting Wellbeing in your School  – Led by one of Eastside’s experienced movement facilitators, this interactive Zoom CPD will introduce primary teachers to simple and effective movement and dance activities that can be adapted to use in the classroom across a range of subjects, supporting teachers to promote positive mental health amongst students.

Our Creative Minds Season supports the following KS3/4 PSHE Outcomes:

  • How to identify and talk about their emotions accurately and sensitively, using appropriate vocabulary 
  • How to critically evaluate when something they do or are involved in has a positive or negative effect on their own or others’ mental health
  • A range of healthy coping strategies and ways to promote wellbeing and boost mood
  • Strategies to understand and build resilience, as well as how to respond to disappointments, challenges and setbacks  
  • Emotional Connection – practising empathy and listening as a tool for understanding each others’ emotions
  • Poetry and Personal Strengths using poetry writing and performance to explore our unique personal strengths.
  •  Tues 11th May, 1.45-2.45pm Championing Resilience: using dance and drama techniques to explore resilience – Join hundreds of other classes around the country to participate in an exciting live streamed creative experience with Eastside facilitators on youtube. Students will be guided through short interactive tasks to complete in their classroom by two inspirational Eastside facilitators to get them creatively exploring mental health and wellbeing.   • Fri 30th April, 4-5.45pm: Poetry writing and performance teaching tools for promoting positive wellbeing in your students – Led by one of Eastside’s experienced poet educators, this interactive Zoom CPD will introduce secondary teachers to achievable poetry writing tools and techniques that are adaptable to use in the classroom across a range of subjects, supporting teachers to promote positive mental health amongst students.
