ABOUT EASTSIDE  

Eastside designs and delivers in-person and online creative programmes, workshops and resources, focussed on our  chosen art forms, for children and young people.  

Our Film and Digital Arts strand delivers: introduction to filmmaking courses such as the BFI Film Academy (16-19  year olds); promo and documentary skills training programme Eastside Studios, offering paid work for 18-25 year  olds on Eastside live streams and promos/documentaries for external companies; Females in Film – long term mentorship programmes plus other funded initiatives. All of these programmes are run from our basement training  spaces with some of the latest in 4K cameras, live streaming equipment and podcast audio set-ups. Since the  pandemic the film and digital team work even more closely with the schools programming team. 

Our Eastside School Workshops strand offers a selection of workshops delivered by Eastside’s creative facilitators  in schools and is designed to help primary, secondary and SEND schools enhance their curriculum offer or celebrate  key calendar dates in the school year, such as Black History Month and Anti Bullying Week. Eastside has recently  launched Creativity Live, a library of livestreamed and on-demand content for teachers, giving students in schools  across the UK the chance to engage digitally in creative experiences with Eastside’s inspirational facilitators.  

Eastside is one of the Arts Council England’s National Portfolio Organisations.  

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Part Time: £10.50 per hour –  average 2 days / week

Eastside Studios seek a motivated and organised Production Intern to join our Film & Digital Programmes team. We are seeking an individual who wants to develop their career in film production working flexibly for an average of two days a week. Some weekend work may also be required (mainly Saturdays) and travelling with participant groups on projects will be necessary on occasion. Managed by Eastside’s Film & Digital Programme Manager, the successful candidate will undertake the following:

  • Communication with programme participants + contributors on upcoming programmes of works & activities including the recruitment of Eastside alumni to be filmed and interviewed as part of a podcast series.
  • Liaise with all contributors informing them of  their roles and the deliverables required across each session or product.
  • Ensure participant attendance and contribution to the programmes are recorded and any issues are promptly followed up.
  • Assemble session resources + equipment before + after course sessions (cameras, cards, kit, shared files/docs).
  • Assist with effective distribution and management of course schedules.

Experience in the following areas would be welcome:

  • Ability to make website updates and social media posts with relevant information and marketing materials.
  • Technical filmmaking/photographic/editing skills.
  • Live streaming experience or broadcast experience.
  • Experience with Arts Award (silver).
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
