SWP Spoken Word Artist Recruitment 2021
Eastside is looking for experienced facilitators in spoken word poetry to join our network and help us deliver our upcoming Spoken Word Power programme in schools across London both this academic year and beyond.
Spoken Word Power is Eastside’s exciting new three-year programme. We’re supporting Primary, Secondary, and SEND schools to creatively champion the spoken word, nurture positive attitudes to language and learning, and provide a platform for the young voices of a generation.
Who are we looking for?
Eastside artists are creative, inspiring, passionate about creativity in education, flexible, reliable and organised. You will have demonstrable experience and ability as a poet educator in schools, an understanding of the process of planning workshops for children and young people (you can have a specialism with one particular age group), and an ability to deal effectively with the demands of varying class abilities, behaviour management, school facilities, practises and procedures.
As part of Eastside’s team you will get:
- Competitive workshop fees
- Facilitator training tailored to the frameworks you will be delivering
- The chance to work with young people of all ages and backgrounds throughout London on high profile creative programmes
- Opportunities for professional development, skill-sharing and working in collaboration with other Eastside artists when appropriate
If you are a creative artist with a proven track-record of delivering participatory work with children and young people, we’d love to hear from you!
Please fill in our application form, within which you can attach your CV.
