European Union Culture ProgrammeEastside Educational Trust (London) is working with School der Poëzie (Amsterdam), Theater an der Parkaue (Berlin) and Villanella (Antwerp) on an international poetry project for young people (ages 15 to 17) called: Y-Poetry. The ‘Y’ stands for both ‘Young’ and ‘Why’. Y-Poetry is supported by the European Union Culture Programme. The European Union Culture Programme aims to enable a wide range of cultural organisations coming from various eligible European countries to collaborate on cultural and artistic projects. Its aim is to support projects and initiatives which celebrate Europe’s cultural diversity and enhance our shared cultural heritage through the development of cross-border co-operation between cultural operators and institutions. The Culture programme has three main objectives: 1.) To promote cross-border mobility of those working in the cultural sector 2.) To encourage the transnational circulation of cultural and artistic output 3.) To foster intercultural dialogue For the achievement of these objectives, the programme supports three strands of activities: cultural actions; European-level cultural bodies; and analysis and dissemination activities. |
