Themes and Narrative - The Quest

'The Quest' is our writing workshop which helps participants to explore narrative structures through a combination of film appreciation, story telling and drama. Stories with a strong central ‘quest’ such as; ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ are used to highlight reccurring themes such as; good versus evil, family loyalty, moral responsibility and homecoming. These ideas are then developed into new original stories which can be written and read aloud, performed or even filmed and screened.
