dance and movement

tap dance

tapdance1Tap Dance

Tap Dance is a theatrical art form often seen on stage in musicals. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out different rhythms, with dancers wearing tap shoes which have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Combining fast paced rhythms and elements of percussive dance from across Europe and the freedom of Jazz – Tap Dance is a great performance dance style. Eastside runs sessions for beginners, intermediate and advanced tap dancers. Tap shoes are great, but other hard-soled shoes work fine.
