Kathak Dance

Kathak is the North Indian style of classical dance and is often used to portray themes from Persian and Urdu poetry or to dramatically retell Hindu myths and stories. Along with the dance technique which is characterised by rhythmic footwork and spectacular spins, music and mime are also extremely important. Kathak dance is a highly specialised and technical form of dancing.
