eastside's a summer in film

three exciting opportunities for young filmmakers this summer...

Eastside is one of London's leading film and media youth arts providers. We were the UK strategic partner for the Adobe Youth Voices project focussed on delivering film and new media engagement projects with 16-19 year olds and an originating partner for the BFI Film Academies offering masterclasses and mentoring over 3 month period in all aspects of filmmaking, with participants shooting a 5 minute short film over 2 days subsequently screened at a gala event. We have run multiple shorter engagement workshops and documentary commissions using young people as the crew and creatives.  Many alumni of our course have gone on to work in the industry or are currently studying film to degree level.

.

This summer we are running three courses for 16-24 year olds who want to develop their skills in film making.  All three are completely free to participants and take place at our Shoreditch offices and studio spaces.

.

Applications for these courses are now closed, but if you are 16-19 years old in October and interested in film, then you will be eligible to apply for the BFI Film Academy. Please click here for more details.

adobe screenwriters camp

.

We are offering enthusiastic young writers (age 16-20) the opportunity to take part in a Screenwriting course that will take place over the summer holidays.  The course will be led by industry professionals who will take you through the process of writing a short film, from creating interesting characters to formatting your script for screen.  You don’t need to have any previous experience in writing for screen but must have a flair and passion for creative writing and an interest in extending your skill set.  Some of the finished screenplays will also be selected to be made into short films by young filmmakers.
