welcome to eastside educational trust
providers of high quality arts education since 1994
educational trust is a registered children’s charity and London’s leading youth arts provider. Our aim is to introduce children and young people to the arts, culture and
heritage in London and to inspire
and motivate young people to realise their full potential, by offering a
comprehensive range of creative and cultural experiences. We not only help the future generation to develop their artistic skills
and cultural understanding, we also introduce important life skills,
such as leadership, responsibility, commitment and team work. Each year we provide more than 100,000 hours of arts activities to young people from many of the schools, colleges and youth groups throughout London and the South East of England. We also run national and international projects linking young
people in the UK with their peers around the world, these projects are designed
to
foster cultural understanding, encourage modern foreign language learning
and to support a global exchange of ideas and creativity.
We are passionate about the arts and learning; we want all young people to
experience and engage with the arts, as participants or as audience members. We provide high-quality, innovative, participatory arts projects, run by
professional arts practitioners in safe and
supportive environments. Our workshops for young people cover the entire spectrum of the creative arts from theatre, dance, music and literature to photography, film-making,
carnival, circus, visual arts and crafts and much more! We can tailor-make individual
arts projects to fulfil specific needs and we have hundreds
of ready-made
creative workshops available to choose from.
From our East London base in Shoreditch, our outreach work extends across all 33 London boroughs and we make an important contribution to the vibrant cultural life of the
capital, not only in the East End but across the whole of
Greater London and throughout the home counties. We offer new and exciting opportunities to children from
families that have not previously engaged with the arts and to young people that might otherwise miss out. We actively target disadvantaged and disaffected young people in some of the most deprived areas of London including children from our surrounding local communities in Hackney and Tower Hamlets.
