volunteering opportunities available at eastside

educational trust's highly acclaimed volunteer programme has been awarded the
Investing In Volunteers quality assurance standard and is generously supported by UBS. The support from UBS enables us to offer
volunteer opportunities, work placements and internships to students, recent graduates and to those
embarking on a career in the arts. Our volunteering opportunities are also made available to local residents and

employees from local businesses.
assistant workshop leaders
Assistant workshop leaders have the opportunity to work directly with children and young people alongside our
professional artists where they can gain experience in
the delivery of arts workshops. Volunteers provide valuable support for our Associate Artists and work in schools and youth groups right across London.

arts mentors
Arts Mentors are people that work in the creative industries prepared to share their knowledge and skills with young
people wanting to work in the arts. They provide career advice and practical experience, highlighting entry points
into the industry and helping young people to bridge the gap between school and the workplace.

summer holiday co-ordinators
Summer holiday co-ordinators work out of the Eastside office in Shoreditch but also go and visit projects across London to ensure the smooth running of our summer
holiday programme which runs in a variety of venues throughout July and August. Applications are open from April-June for the following summer.

event stewards & helpers
Event stewards are local volunteers that can
help out at events, performances and festivals to meet and greet
members of the public and ensure the smooth running of showcase events.
Stewards are also vital for public workshops in Eastside's studio,
including our family activities and community programmes.

graphic designers
Graphic designers can support our work by helping us to design fun, eye
catching and professional looking flyers and posters which will appeal to children, young people and potential project participants. Our graphic design volunteers are able to boost
their portfolio and develop skills in designing for a youth market.

business volunteers / team challenges
Employee volunteers from some our major corporate supporters and local businesses regularly lend their skills to support events such as our charity auction or chaperoning children on trips or helping on large scale projects. Eastside also offer a number of day-long team building challenges to employee volunteers.

Volunteering is an enriching experience for
the volunteer and has given many people a powerful sense of personal fulfilment
and growth.
Our volunteers enjoy what they do and are rewarded by the knowledge that
their work makes a difference to the lives of children and young people. If you are looking for
a very specific experience or qualification, there is nothing like a bit of
volunteering on your CV to demonstrate your commitment and your community spirit - not
to mention the skills that you will acquire. We will (subject to the completion of a successful placement) provide you with
references following your time with us.
