Tales of Diversity, the magazine created as part of our Graphic Truths project, is to launch on Saturday 16 January from 2 - 5pm at The Rag Factory, just off Brick Lane and will coincide with an exhibition of the young people's work. We hope that you are able to join us for this forthcoming free event and if you would like to be added onto the guest list to attend the exhibition, please contact Truly Johnston or for details about where you can pick up your free copy of the magazine, please contact us.
Over the past few months, 25 young people have been busy interviewing, drawing and taking on a variety of editorial and business roles as they put together, design and publish their own magazine which captures London from their point of view. There is a twist - the magazine, which makes fascinating reading, has been created in the form of a comic and is full of the most beautiful art work. Features include such
diverse topics as street gangs, music, sport, travel, politics, parents, tattoos and the corrupt diamond trade in South
Africa. Participants chose topics that were of interest to them, researched their features, conducted interviews and created illustrations and drawings to document their findings.
Not only have the participants been writing the news, but they have been making it too. The project has been featured in the Evening Standard and will be discussed on Resonance FM.
