Eastside to feature in London Children’s Film Festival

Eastside is working with two of London’s oldest cinemas this autumn, the Phoenix Cinema in East Finchley and the Ritzy Cinema in Brixton, as part of Performing for Success (PfS). A number of short documentaries made by Eastside's young film-makers about both cinemas will be screened as part of the 2009 London Children’s Film Festival (21-29 November).

Tickets now available for Eastside's West End Gala

Book your tickets now to enjoy a spectacular performance of unforgettable entertainment, live on stage at The Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus on Saturday 7th November, 2009. (Curtain up at 11.30am, show will finish at 1pm). Up to 100 young people will take to the stage in an exclusive celebration of youth arts as they perform a showcase of popular hit songs from West End favourites such as Oliver!, Blood Brothers, The Lion King and Mamma Mia!

Eastside is giving young Londoners the chance to create, publish and exhibit their own illustrated magazine inspired by the rising popularity of the graphic novel. Young people from across London will combine investigative journalism with their passion and skill for drawing, as they tell the contemporary stories of their peers through comic book style reportage and interviews.

Throughout 2010 Eastside is holding an appeal for new or second hand toys and books. If you have any unwanted children's toys or books that have been outgrown or are no longer wanted, please consider donating them to our appeal. All toys and books received will be given a good home! Thanks to all those who have already contributed to our appeal, your donations are greatly appreciated.
