We work with a wide variety of music practitioners from a range of backgrounds, disciplines and musical styles. Please take a look at our Workshop Portfolio to explore the workshops we have on offer. If your skills are in an area that we are not currently covering, do still get in touch, as we are keen to increase and expand our music provision. Our approach means that we collaborate with a wide range of musicians and technicians including music producers, sound engineers, percussionists, DJ's, composers, recording musicians singers and world music artists.

We look for the following in our artists:
  • Skilled and trained in music disciplines
  • Direct teaching experience of children or young people
  • Good communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of creative activities in a learning environment
  • Skills in team work for collaborative projects
  • Physical fitness (in order to carry out your selected discipline to a high standard)
  • Genuine enjoyment and commitment to working with children and young people
  • An adaptable attitude to teaching to ensure that projects are fun

On an Eastside project you will be expected to:
  • Facilitate (or team teach) workshops with young people aged 2 - 21 dependant on your experience at working with different age groups
  • Work within your professional discipline to further children's experience and skills whilst striving to achieve Eastside's aims
  • Achieve each projects' learning outcomes
  • Plan and facilitate the workshops in a fun, safe and energetic way, designed to encourage both learning and enjoyment
  • Liaise with Eastside's Performing Arts Officer regarding administration and the progress and development of the project
  • Evaluate each project

  2. Our Performing Arts Officer will contact you and invite you in for an interview.  Please note that if you don't hold a current CRB enhanced disclosure you will be required to get one before we can place you any any projects as this role involves working with children.  We can give you more information about this process if you require.
  3. You will be required to attend an introduction to working with Eastside which covers what we expect of our artists and gives you more information on Eastside.
