We will be celebrating Eastside's 16th birthday with a big summer party and BBQ on Friday 16th July, 2010. All of our friends, supporters, volunteers and Associate Artists will be invited and we hope you can join us too for an evening of music mirth and merriment. The dress code is hot pinks and deep purples - the new Eastside colours. Further details to be announced shortly.

photographic exhibition

Throughout the past year, two very talented photographic apprentices Paula Salischiker and Charlie Kane, under the watchful eye of their mentor Paul King, have been documenting Eastside's youth work by taking some amazing photographs of our creative projects and workshops in action, all across London. Some of their inspirational photographs are featured on our website. More of their work will form part of a photographic exhibition that we will be running in 2010 to celebrate Eastside's 16th birthday. Further details to be announced shortly.

charity auction at bonhams

As part of our birthday celebrations, you are invited to our charity auction at Bonhams of New Bond Street on Thursday 30th September, 2010. The evening promises to be a star-studded event, so please come and bid for our unique experiences, exclusive celebrity items and rare memorabilia. All the money raised on the night will go directly to support the work of Eastside Educational Trust with children and young people from disadvantaged and deprived backgrounds in Hackney and East London so please bid generously as your money will make a real difference! - You can view the available auction lots online, bidding has already started and will culminate with a live auction in Gallery 1 at Bonhams Auction House, 101 New Bond Street... bugsy malone reunion for the class of 1994

We are currently running a campaign in the local press and media to try and track down the original cast members from our inaugural youth theatre production of Bugsy Malone which we put on in Poplar, East London in 1994. We would like to get back in touch with the original members of the cast - so if you were dancing in Fat Sam’s Speakeasy or if you were one of Dandy Dan's gangsters, we want to hear from you!  The cast members who were all aged between 8 -15 in 1994, will now be in their 20's and 30's. West End star and Eastside patron Gary Wilmot, who came to see our production of Bugsy Malone is spearheading the campaign for Eastside. The photograph (right) taken in 1994, shows the Bugsy Malone cast with Big Breakfast presenters Mark Little and Gaby Roslin. eastside's birthday toy & book appeal

Throughout 2010 Eastside is running an appeal for new or second hand toys and books. If you have any unwanted children's toys or books that have been outgrown or are no longer wanted, please consider donating them to our appeal. All toys and books received will be given a good home! - Thanks to all those who have already contributed, your donations are greatly appreciated.
