We work with a wide variety of dance practitioners
from different backgrounds and across a variety of disciplines and dance styles. Please take a look at our

that we collaborate with a wide range of dancers and choreographers including street dancers, hip hop artists, contemporary
dancers, classically trained dancers and those practising cultural and world dance such as Salsa, Samba, African
and Indian dances.
We look for the following in our artists:- Skilled and trained in dance
- Direct teaching experience of children or young people
- Good communication skills
- Sound knowledge of creative activities in a learning environment
- Skills in team work for collaborative projects
- Physical fitness (in order to carry out your selected discipline to a high standard)
- Genuine enjoyment and commitment to working with children and young people
- An adaptable attitude to teaching to ensure that projects are fun
On an Eastside project you will be expected to:- Facilitate
(or team teach) workshops with young people aged 2 - 21 dependant on
your experience at working with different age groups
- Work within your professional discipline to further children's experience and skills whilst striving to achieve Eastside's aims
- Achieve each projects' learning outcomes
- Plan and facilitate the workshops in a fun, safe and energetic way, designed to encourage both learning and enjoyment
- Liaise with Eastside's Performing Arts Officer regarding administration and the progress and development of the project
- Evaluate each project

people which will give you the opportunity to extend your education
practice as well as stretching the young people's creative skills

- The opportunity to work collaboratively across art forms as well as with other practitioners working within your discipline

- Our
Performing Arts Officer will contact you and invite you in for an
interview. Please note that if you don't hold a current CRB enhanced
disclosure you will be required to get one before we can place you any
any projects as this role involves working with children. We can give
you more information about this process if you require.
- You
will be required to attend an introduction to working with Eastside
which covers what we expect of our artists and gives you more
information on Eastside.
