january 2010
Have you made your resolution yet?
There’s plenty to get involved with in 2010 and Eastside is planning a fun-packed sixteenth year. If you haven’t had enough of the festivities you can always join in the fun at the New Year’s Day Parade or end the season on Bankside with a Twelfth Night celebration.
The New Year is a great time for trying something new; the London International Mime Festival offers a whole theatrically visual feast, or why not see if you can spot the hottest new dance talents at Resolution?
Eastside continues to offer young Londoners opportunities to try something new and highlights this year include Word Play, our literature programme of engagement with schools across London. We’re inspiring a new generation of readers and writers - you could be one of them! Keep an eye on whether we'll be at your school and remember, you can always contact us to ask about any of our workshops and projects. Keeping with the book theme for this month, there will be plenty to look forward to at the Costa Book Awards, or see young people’s words take flight at the heavyweight championship of the word, ‘Flightings’, in partnership with The Fire Poet.
Readers need not feel left out in the cold, as our Tiny Book Club and Responses to Reading will ensure that a love of language are a lasting legacy of our visits to schools.
