"We want to touch the lives of the young people we work with and to facilitate their creative learning."

Hello - I'm Ciara Brennan; as Performing Arts Officer it is my responsibility to manage and develop Eastside’s drama, dance and music programmes. From the conception of an idea, right through to the delivery of a project, it is my role to devise a workshop plan, recruit the most suitably skilled artists and to work closely with our clients to ensure that our programmes are of the highest quality and have the potential to open minds and change lives. I work very closely with our pool of highly skilled Associate Artists to support their good work and to make certain that the young people, with whom we work, gain maximum benefit from our workshops, both creatively and academically.

I also support our Associate Artists with their professional development through the delivery of our training programmes and skills development workshops. My aim is to build strong and lasting relationships between Eastside and all our partners and to ensure that the great work we do is sustainable, long-lasting and far reaching. We want to touch the lives of the young people we work with and to facilitate their creative learning. I strongly believe in the immense impact that creativity through the performing arts can make on all young people, particularly with vulnerable groups, in terms of confidence, pride and social skills. What I enjoy most about my role is seeing a project hatch from a tiny idea and grow into a thriving workshop. Witnessing young people engaging in a creative manner and helping them to unlock their potential, raise their achievement and share their talents, makes my job immensely satisfying.
