educational trust has a team of more than 500 freelance Associate Artists who are all highly experienced and professionally trained arts practitioners, qualified to work with children and young people. Our Associate Artists attend a regular training programme of creative seminars and skills share workshops which support the development of their teaching skills and give an insight into educational policy and practice. Our Associate Artists work closely with our volunteers and also consult with the creative team about the content and structure of our educational programme.

actors & drama practitioners

Eastside work with a range of drama practitioners and performers including actors, directors, stand-up comedians, singers, circus performers, puppeteers, presenters, set designers, lighting  technicians and backstage crew members. Students vary from keen amateurs to those at Diploma level. dancers & choreographers

Eastside's dance projects cover most styles of movement and dance from Hip Hop and Street that are popular in youth culture to styles that young people find more challenging such as Ballroom or modern dance and specific cultural dance styles such as Bharatanatyam and Kathak dance. musicians

Eastside's music projects range from the more traditional instruments played in youth orchestras and in aspiring pop groups to junk instruments created from recycled rubbish and musical vegtables!  We also run music tech, compsition projects, DJ'ing and VJ'ing and even body percussion. writers, poets & spoken word artists

Eastside run a wide variety of literature and spoken word projects from poetry, rap and lyric writing to book clubs and reading groups, short story competitions, review writing and publishing projects. We are looking to recruit literary artists that can teach a range of skills as well as specialists in their field. visual artists & craft makers

Eastside's visual arts portfolio covers every imaginable art and craft technique from drawing, painting, murals and street art, to mosaics, ceramics, felt-making and sculpture, we also cover knitting, quilting and textile design. We are keen to hear from all types of visual artists the more unusual, the better. film-makers and photographers

Eastside work with documentary film-makers, film directors, film editors, animators, photographers, web designers, broadcasters and journalists on a range of film and media projects. We also enable students to learn about presenting and screen acting and to make films in foreign languages. Ciara Brennan manages all of our dance, drama, music and singing projects, while Laura Stewart manages our visual arts, literature, spoken word and film projects.
