Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 (Bronze, Silver and Gold) on the National Qualifications Framework. Arts Council England appointed Eastside as the London Regional Agency to launch and establish the Arts Award in London for the first three years and Eastside is now an Arts Award Welcome Centre.

Dance (Hackney, London)

Throughout 2010 we are pleased to be able to offer the Gold Arts Award.  Working with a group of young dancers from our local Hackney area, we will run the award which will include work experience placements at professional arts training centres, dance mentorship programmes and the making of a professional film.  The Gold Arts Award is a Level Three accreditation recognised on the national qualifications framework, equivalent to an A level or 14 – 19 diploma.  With this qualification under their belt, our group are set for success!  Please contact Ciara Brennan or call 020 7033 2380 to find out more.

If you are an Arts Awards Adviser and want to find exciting opportunities for your students, we could help steer you towards fun arts workshops for young people (please see above for current opportunities); or we can provide the opportunity to interview professional arts practitioners or find placements with practicing artists. In the first instance, please contact Ciara Brennan our Arts Award Welcome Officer or call Eastside on 020 7033 2380 to find out more.

The Arts Award can be achieved at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels, each of which allows you to focus on a single art form or explore a variety of different topics or art forms. You will end up with a portfolio that shows off your creativity and gives you a recognised national qualification to put on your CV.
