arts award courses at bronze, silver and gold levels

educational trust is an an Arts Award Welcome Centre so if you want to participate in fun arts activities, we can
help you to take part in all sorts of workshops throughout the year. If any of the following grab your attention, contact us about signing up and taking part. Remember to check back as we update our workshops often. The Arts Award is a national qualification that recognises
how young people develop as artists, arts practitioners and arts leaders. Young
people aged between 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 (Bronze, Silver and Gold) on the National Qualifications Framework. Arts Council England appointed Eastside as
the London Regional Agency to launch and
establish the Arts Award in London
for the first three years and Eastside is now an Arts Award Welcome Centre.
We have the following activities coming up:

FREE Spoken word & poetry writing project
Adobe Youth Voices - February 2010
Do you have a way with words? Do you want to practice your poetry skills
and create text to be filmed as part of Adobe Youth Voices? Do you want to add to your poetry skills by
learning about film-making? Eastside will be
running poetry workshops during half term in February 2010.
Successful applicants will then go on to work with young film-makers to
transform their spoken word pieces into professionally produced short films. To take part you will need to fill out a short application form and submit an original poem to Eastside by 22nd
January 2010. The workshops will take place: 15th – 19th February 2010. To request an application form or for more details, contact Laura Stewart.

FREE Film-making project
Adobe Youth Voices - April 2010
Are you a young film-maker wishing to take your film-making skills to the next
level? Eastside is running a film-making
project which will give you a chance to put your film-making skills into action
by creating films in response to spoken word pieces written by other young
people. Make new friends and develop
your skills. The workshops will take place: 5th – 8th April 2010 or 13th –

FREE Illustration and comic strip project
Graphic Truths - February 2010
Do you live in Hackney? Are you interested in drawing? Join Eastside’s taster workshops on 16th
and 17th February 2010 and learn how to tell great stories
through your artwork and animations as you develop your drawing and graphic design skills under guidance from top industry professionals. You will be able to display your finished work in our online Gallery on this
website. The workshops are taking place
as part of the Discover Young Hackney Festival and are open to young people aged 11-19

opportunities for your students, we could help steer you towards fun

The Arts Award can be achieved at Bronze, Silver or Gold levels, each of which
allows you to focus on a single art form or explore a variety of different topics or art forms. You will end up with a portfolio that shows off your creativity and gives you a
recognised national qualification to put on your CV.
You will need to:
- Set yourself an arts challenge
- Share your arts skills with others
- Organise your own projects
- Put together a portfolio in your own format
