future hackney film project

giving young people in Hackney a voice

Free film making course for 14-19 year olds in the borough.  No experience required.

Eastside are looking for young people who live, work or study in Hackney who want to get their voices heard and learn the film making skills to help them do it.

The course is also open to young people living in the North West of Tower Hamlets in postcodes E1 and E2.

Working as part of the Future Hackney project being run by Innercity Films we are offering the opportunity to work with a professional film maker over 5 days in the Easter holidays to learn the basics of camera operation, framing, sound recording and editing.  The group will then work together to devise, shoot and edit a short film based on their thoughts and experiences of what Hackney means to them.

The project will run on:

Monday 3rd April
Tuesday 4th April
Wednesday 5th April
Monday 10th April
Tuesday 11th April

Time: 10.00am – 5.00pm

We are particularly keen to hear from young people who have an interest in film and have an opinion they want to share but don't normally have the chance to learn the skills or have access to the resources to help them do it.

If this is you, or if you know someone that fits the bill, then we want to hear from you.

You can register through the online form up until 5pm on Sunday 2nd April but you MUST download, print get your parents to complete the consent form you can find here if you are 14-17 and bring it on the first day or you cannot particpate.
