Adrian Lester OBE trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and soon became one of the UK's most celebrated and versatile actors. After receiving critical acclaim for his work on stage and on the big screen, Adrian Lester became a household name playing Mickey ‘Bricks’ Stone in the hit con drama Hustle(BBC1) alongside Robert Vaughan and Robert Glenister. 

Adrian’s international movie career was launched after director Mike Nichols spotted him and offered him the lead role of Henry in the blockbuster Primary Colors, alongside John Travolta and Emma Thompson. Since then Adrian has enjoyed a series of diverse and successful film roles including: Maybe Baby, Day After Tomorrow, Born Romantic, Love's Labour's Lost, Dust, Final Curtain, Scenes of a Sexual Nature, As You Like It, Doomsday, Best, Case No. 39, Starting Out In The Evening, Spiderman 3, Up On The Roof, Les Soeurs Soleil and The Affair.

Adrian's television credits include: Hustle, Bonekickers, Ballet Shoes, Merlin, Storm Damage, Silent Witness, Teaching Matthew, Sleep With Me, Afterlife, Beyond, Empire’s Children, Ghost Squad, Girlfriends, Jason And The Argonauts, Ball And Chain and the BBC drama Being Human where he played a vampire called Herrick!  

Theatre credits include Sweeney Todd directed by Declan Donnellan (Royal National Theatre), Henry V directed by Nicholas Hytner (Royal National Theatre), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Royal National Theatre Tour), the title role in Hamlet directed by Peter Brook (Theatre des Bouffes du Nord, Young Vic and world tour), Bobby in Company directed by Sam Mendes (Donmar and Albery) for which he won the Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical, Rosalind in an all-male production of As You Like It directed by Declan Donnellan (Lyric Hammersmith, Albery and on tour for Cheek By Jowl), for which he won the Time Out Award for Best Actor, Six Degrees of Separation directed by Pyllida Lloyd (Royal Court and Comedy Theatre), for which he won the Time Out Award for Best Actor, Kiss of the Spiderwoman (Belgrade Coventry), Fences directed by Alby James (Liverpool Playhouse and Garrick), The Winter¹s Tale (Royal Exchange), Hanging the President (Traverse Theatre Studio) and
Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (Novello Theatre).

Adrian Lester received an OBE in the New Year's Honours list 2013, for services to drama.  

Adrian lives in South London with his wife, actress Lolita Chakrabarti and their two daughters, Lila and Jasmine.
